Basketball Recap: Chesapeake Comes Up Short

Chesapeake lost against Fairland back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Chesapeake Panthers were outmatched by the Fairland Dragons and fell 59-21. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-3.

Addison Godby was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds for Fairland. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Russell, who posted 14 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Chesapeake and nudges their season record down to 11-10. As for Fairland, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chesapeake has already played their next game (against Cabell Midland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fairland will take on Marietta at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Fairland has won four straight at home, while Marietta won eight straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
