Softball Preview: Cascade Cadets vs. Monrovia Bulldogs        
        
		
            
 The Cascade Cadets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Monrovia Bulldogs at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Cascade will be looking to keep their 15-game home win streak  dating back to last season alive.
 Cascade can now show off 15 landslide victories after their most recent  matchup  on Monday. They blew past Mooresville 9-1.
  Grace Gray was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Gray has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in 11 consecutive pitching appearances. Gray was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Suzy Moore was  excellent,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Macey Pugh, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Monrovia narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past Covenant Christian  6-4. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Monrovia.
  Tylynn Secuskie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and two unearned) runs on three hits.
 At the plate,  Avery Wolfe was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and a  triple.  Grace Deaton was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 Cascade is  on a roll lately: they've  won 13 of their last 14 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record  this season. As for Monrovia, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cascade has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 3.4  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Monrovia struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 4.7. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 Cascade took their  win against Monrovia  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023 by a conclusive  11-0. Does  Cascade have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monrovia turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
