Basketball Game Preview: Mora Rangers/Rangerettes vs. Escalante Lobos

Mora is 2-8 against Escalante since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The two teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. without much rest, having both just played. Mora has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Mora took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Questa by a score of 67-58. The Rangers/Rangerettes pushed the score to 56-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Escalante sidestepped Penasco for a 60-57 win.

Mora's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-12. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games. As for Escalante, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-13.

Mora came out on top in a nail-biter against Escalante when the teams last played on Thursday, sneaking past 37-35. Does Mora have another victory up their sleeve, or will Escalante turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
