Basketball Recap: Josiah Jacobs and Devion Coleman Secure Win for Hoke County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against High Point Christian Academy, Hoke County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 66-56 win over the Dillon Christian Warriors. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bucks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Leading Hoke County to victory were Devion Coleman and Josiah Jacobs. Coleman posted 15 points, while Jacobs put up 14 points. The dominant performance gave Coleman a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Mcleod, who had ten points.

Loss or not, Dillon Christian got some senior leadership from Jackson Outlar and Thompson Stone. Outlar earned 27 points, while Stone posted 20 points along with five assists and three steals. Stone's afternoon made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Braxton Cummings was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Hoke County's record now sits at 5-6. As for Dillon Christian, they moved to 6-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Hoke County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-41 loss against West Bladen on the 27th. As for Dillon Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-48 defeat against West Columbus on the 27th.
