Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Patriots vs. Ambassador Christian School Lions

The Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Patriots will take on the Ambassador Christian School Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy came up short against Forsyth Home Educators and fell 7-4. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keegan Spach, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Spach is becoming a predictor of the Patriots' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't).

Meanwhile, Ambassador Christian School posted their closest victory since March 4th on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Hickory Christian Academy 6-4.

Jacson Taplin was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Roman Degnan was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Stone Cherry, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Ambassador Christian School, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy beat Ambassador Christian School 4-1 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
