Phoenix Country Day waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 two weeks ago.

Phoenix Country Day had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-18, 25-16, 26-24.

Despite the loss, Arizona Lutheran Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Elsa Wiechmann had eight digs and three aces.

Phoenix Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they dropped their record down to 7-16 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Phoenix Country Day will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Glendale Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, after both having extra time off, they and Casa Grande will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 9:00 a.m. on the 10th.
