League recap: Burdiek throws longest pass in league this season for Silver Lake

Evan Burdiek and Cole Trammel provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Rock Creek. The connection was good for 68 yards, the longest such play in Mid-East this season.

Silver Lake extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Mustangs, 42-6. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Eagles.

Dalton Catron and Thatcher Horak gave Rossville a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Catron threw for 108 yards and one touchdown, while Horak ran for 143 yards. Catron also contributed to the rushing game with 62 yards on the ground.

Trammel was the best wideout in the league this week as Silver Lake beat Rock Creek. Trammel tallied two receptions for 80 yards. Isaac Pridey helped Silver Lake's passing attack out by catching one ball for 34 yards.

Zach Haya made the biggest impact on defense this week as Wabaunsee lost to St. Marys. The 5-foot-6 junior recorded one fumble.

5-foot-8 quarterback Catron of the Bulldogs is the league leader in passing yards this season with 472. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, the Chargers' Ethan Miller has rushed for 465 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jeff Torkelson. The Silver Lake star has 13 catches for 185 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Mike Beam's team takes on Rossville. The Mustangs are currently in third, while Steve Buhler's team is in second.

Cj Hamilton's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Rock Creek. Dailin Kruger threw for 45 yards and one touchdown and ran for 119 yards in the win.
