Valley had to endure a 37-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They skirted past the Golden Sierra Grizzlies 45-43. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Bradley Dodson and Cody Olsen certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Dodson posted nine points and five steals, while Olsen earned five points and six rebounds. Dodson is becoming a predictor of Golden Sierra's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 6-3 (and 0-3 when he doesn't).

Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Golden Sierra, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley will venture away from home to challenge Denair at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Denair's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups. As for Golden Sierra, they are taking a road trip to square off against Highlands at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Avion Weaver and Dodson.
