Basketball Recap: Eastside Takes a Loss

Eastside lost against Dorman back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eastside Eagles were outmatched by the Dorman Cavaliers and fell 59-19. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-6.

Taryah Humbert was Eastside's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Destiney Ulmer held things down on the boards with three rebounds. Kristen McBride took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

It was another big night for Morgan White, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards for Dorman. White is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last 15 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Makayla Moore, who posted nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Eastside and nudges their season record down to 6-17. As for Dorman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Coming up, Eastside is taking a road trip to challenge Spartanburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dorman, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wade Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dorman knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Wade Hampton likes a good challenge.
