Recap: Camp Verde Cowboys vs. Fountain Hills Falcons
The Camp Verde Cowboys lost against the Fountain Hills Falcons on January 9th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Camp Verde took a 40-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fountain Hills. Camp Verde has not had much luck with Fountain Hills recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Rachel Roderick and Erin Collon certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Roderick scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Collon scored six points. Roderick has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.
Camp Verde's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Fountain Hills, they pushed their record up to 18-4 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
Camp Verde and Bourgade Catholic will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Fountain Hills, they will head out on the road to square off against Wickenburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wickenburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Fountain Hills is ranked 64th).
