Volleyball Game Preview: Malibu Sharks vs. Bishop Diego Cardinals

The Malibu Sharks will take on the Bishop Diego Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Bishop Diego will be up against a hot Malibu team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Sharks put the hurt on Channel Islands with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday.

While Malibu won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-13, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Bishop Diego made easy work of Dunn on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Earwigs: they've now won eight in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Bishop Diego took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-5, 25-12.

Bishop Diego's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Malibu, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.

Malibu suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Bishop Diego in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can the Sharks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
