Baseball Recap: Iowa Park Has No Trouble Against Bowie

There's no place like home for Iowa Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bowie Jackrabbits a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hawks yet this season.

CJ McNeill made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kane Decker was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Brayden Holster was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Iowa Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matches.

Iowa Park has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. Bowie dropped their record down to 8-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Iowa Park will have a chance to go back-to-back against Bowie: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
