Softball Recap: Monroe Central Takes a Loss

Monroe Central blew River out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday River got their revenge. The Seminoles fell just short of the Pilots by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Seminoles have suffered against the Pilots since April 14, 2021.

Jauna McElroy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Miller, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple.

Monroe Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for River, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Monroe Central will host Barnesville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River, they will venture away from home to take on Shadyside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pilots are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
