Softball Recap: Terrell Comes Up Short

Terrell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-7 to Corsicana. If Terrell was looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to Corsicana when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Riley Hernandez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Howie, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Even though they lost, Terrell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Terrell now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Corsicana, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-7-1 record.

Terrell and Corsicana could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Terrell will challenge Crandall at 2:00 p.m. on Monday down 509 places (677 vs. 168). Terrell has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Similarly, Corsicana (ranked 681st) will meet Midlothian Heritage (ranked 238th) at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
