Volleyball Recap: Penney Takes a Loss

Penney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the West Platte Bluejays. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bluejays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-7, 25-11, 25-6.

West Platte found their leader in freshman Nora Meyerkorth, who had seven aces and six digs. Those seven aces set a new season-high mark for Meyerkorth. Blair Mchenry also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Penney's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for West Platte, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 18-15-2.

As of now, neither Penney nor the Bluejays have any future games scheduled.
