With a playoff win on the line, Great Oak rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Cajon Cowboys 38-15. Considering the Wolfpack have won seven matchups by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Great Oak found their leader in sophomore Trent Lux, who threw for 170 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Lux's passing game has become a key predictor of the Wolfpack's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise.

Cajon's loss came despite strong showings from Maleek Nolley and Marcus Washington. Nolley rushed for 61 yards and one touchdown, while Washington rushed for 46 yards and one score. Nolley got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 52 yards.

Great Oak's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.3 points over those games. As for Cajon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.

Great Oak wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 30-6 loss against Villa Park on the 14th. Cajon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
