Baseball Game Preview: Lancaster Tigers vs. Waxahachie Indians

For the second straight game, Lancaster will face off against Waxahachie. The Tigers will take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lancaster took a 19-run loss the last time they faced off against Waxahachie, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Indians on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Leo Leiva spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lancaster is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Lancaster saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Foster, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Foster is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

The defeat snapped Waxahachie's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-10 record. As for Lancaster, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.
