Baseball Game Preview: Pacheco Panthers vs. Ceres Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Pacheco will face off against Ceres. Pacheco will host Ceres at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Pacheco easily dispatched Johansen on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Pacheco fell just short of Ceres by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

For Ceres' part, Vincent Castrejon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. Castrejon has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ceres saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Moreno, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Ceres, bringing their record up to 11-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Pacheco, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
