Baseball Recap: Highland Now 10-1 over Last 11 Games

Highland had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Benedictine on Monday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Cadets. Considering the Hawks have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Quinn Peck was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Wright Broadhead, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Highland is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Benedictine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9-1 record this season.

Highland will venture away from home to take on Fredericksburg Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Benedictine, they have already played their next game, an 8-6 victory against Steward on the 16th.
