Village Christian Academy had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Coastal Christian Centurions.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-18, 26-24.

Grant Washington paced Village Christian Academy's offense, picking up 13 kills. Washington got some help from Jacob Grenier- Richie and his 15 assists. Grenier- Richie also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Kobi Asante, racking up two apiece.

Village Christian Academy pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Coastal Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Village Christian Academy will face off against Hoke County at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Coastal Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fayetteville Academy at 5:30 p.m. on April 4.
