Recap: Arvada West Wildcats vs. Ralston Valley Mustangs
If the Arvada West Wildcats were riding high off their 55-32 takedown of the Heritage Eagles last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Arvada West fell to Ralston Valley 48-44. The game was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but Arvada West was outscored by Ralston Valley in the second.
Despite the defeat, Arvada West had strong showings from Saylor Swanson, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds, and Avery Harrison, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Arvada West's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Ralston Valley, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arvada West will take on Chatfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Chatfield is ranked 31st, while Arvada West is ranked 49th). As for Ralston Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lakewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Friday.
