Baseball Game Preview: Army-Navy Warriors vs. Orange Glen Patriots

The Army-Navy Warriors will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Orange Glen Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Army-Navy is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They came up short against Escondido Charter on Monday, falling 17-1. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Army-Navy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mario Riquer, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, everything went Orange Glen's way against El Cajon Valley on Tuesday as Orange Glen made off with a 23-2 win.

Jacob Morales made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Adrian Garcia was a standout: he scored four runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Alex Martinez was another key player, scoring four runs while going 3-for-3.

Orange Glen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .757. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Cajon Valley only posted an OBP of .308.

Army-Navy might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Orange Glen in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can Army-Navy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
