Soccer Game Preview: Oak Ridge vs. Olympia

The Oak Ridge Pioneers will face off against the Olympia Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oak Ridge will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Wednesday, then bounced right back against Jones on Thursday. Oak Ridge walked away with a 5-3 victory over Jones. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Pioneers' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Olympia kept a clean sheet against Edgewater last Wednesday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Jackson Mangum and Guilherme Valente scored both of Olympia's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.

Oak Ridge's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8-2. As for Olympia, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7-3 record this season.

Oak Ridge skirted past Olympia 3-2 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will Oak Ridge repeat their success, or does Olympia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
