Basketball Recap: Lucy Haywood's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Shining Light Baptist Academy over Tabernacle Christian

Shining Light Baptist Academy played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Tabernacle Christian Rams, falling 44-19. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-32 back in December of 2024.

Several Sharks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucy Haywood, who posted 13 points. Rylie Edwards also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Tabernacle Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addison Wallace, who put up 15 points. Another player making a difference was Rylee Temple, who earned 13 points.

Shining Light Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Tabernacle Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

Shining Light Baptist Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 35-19 loss against Rockwell Christian School on the 27th. As for Tabernacle Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-36 victory against Fayetteville Street Christian on the 27th.
