Recap: Wenonah Dragons vs. Minor Tigers
After a string of seven wins, the Wenonah Dragons's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 61-50 to Minor. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Wenonah came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Minor is ranked 110th).
Gabrielle Blanks and Samarian Franklin certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Blanks dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Franklin scored 22 points. The matchup was Franklin's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jakerria Ringstaff, who scored 6 points along with 4 steals.
Wenonah's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Minor, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Wenonah will be playing at home against Parker at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Parker focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Thursday. As for Minor, they will head out on the road to face off against Cornerstone at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
