Basketball Recap: Wickenburg Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Wickenburg Christian Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were beaten by the Tri-City Christian Academy Warriors 82-52 on Thursday. The Lion have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Tri-City Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Fulvio Dos Santos, who dropped a double-double with 45 points and 20 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Dos Santos has scored at least a third of Tri-City Christian Academy's points. Romeo Salcido was another key player, putting up 18 points in addition to eight steals and six rebounds.

Wickenburg Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Wickenburg Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, they will square off against Trinity Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Trinity Christian sitting on 13 straight wins and Tri-City Christian Academy on nine.
