Recap: Governor's School for Science & Math Eagles vs. Lewisville Lions
This season hasn't been kind to the Governor's School for Science & Math Eagles, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They took a serious blow against Lewisville on Tuesday, falling 61-17. Governor's School for Science & Math has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Lewisville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mariah Wallace, who scored 19 points along with eight steals and five assists. Wallace has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Baker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals.
Governor's School for Science & Math's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.7 points per game. As for Lewisville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Governor's School for Science & Math will play host again and welcome the Hornets, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lewisville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. McBee is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
