Softball Recap: PikeView Panthers vs. Shady Spring Tigers
PikeView extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 8-11 in the process. They came up short against the Shady Spring Tigers, falling 9-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 on Friday.

As for Shady Spring, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-4. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On Shady Spring's side, Raegan Lane was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Lane has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lacy Osborne was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Bryanna Shrewsberry was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.
