Softball Recap: Mayfield's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Marymount last Tuesday, Mayfield came back down to earth. The Mayfield Cubs fell just short of the Burbank Bulldogs by a score of 7-6 on Monday.

Mayfield's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Burbank, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7-1.

Mayfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-4 tie against Bishop's on the 13th. As for Burbank, they will be taking part in a tournament against Kaiser at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Burbank is facing Kaiser at the right time seeing as Kaiser is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
