Oakley came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Russell, but Kelvie Reeves wouldn't allow it. The Russell Broncos skirted past the Oakley Plainsmen 46-44 thanks in part to Reeves, who posted 16 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. She has become a key player for Russell: the team is 5-2 when she posts at least five steals, but 3-7 otherwise.

Jade Beckman and Alexa Weiser certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Beckman dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards, while Weiser dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Weiser continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Russell's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9. As for Oakley, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4.

When Russell and Oakley next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Russell will try to stop Thomas More Prep-Marian's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Oakley will face off against Hoxie and their three-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
