Baseball Recap: Van Takes a Loss

Van was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Wyoming East Warriors, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-5 on Tuesday.

Van saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Earl Davis, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Aaryn Meadows also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Even though they lost, Van was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Van's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Wyoming East, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Van will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against St. Joseph Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be Van's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Wyoming East, they will host Scott at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Scott's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Wyoming East's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
