Carbondale had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the seven-goal drubbing they dealt Mt. Vernon on Monday. The Terriers never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Carbondale might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by three goals or more this season.

They hit Mt. Vernon with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sara Schurz (5), Peytn Hickey, and Shelby Dierks.

The win got Carbondale back to even at 9-9-1. As for Mt. Vernon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
