Preview: Valor Preparatory Academy Owls vs. Queen's Grant Stallions

The Valor Preparatory Academy Owls will be home for the holidays to greet the Queen's Grant Stallions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses dating back to last season for Valor Preparatory Academy and eight for Queen's Grant dating back to last season.

On Friday, Valor Preparatory Academy took a serious blow against Jackson Day, falling 55-17. While losing is never fun, Valor Preparatory Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 600th, while Jackson Day is ranked 230th).

Meanwhile, Queen's Grant might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Grace Academy an easy 47-24 win. Queen's Grant was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-5.

Despite their defeat, Queen's Grant saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Triniti Hartis, who scored eight points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hartis has scored all season. Journee Little was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Valor Preparatory Academy's loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.8 points per game. As for Queen's Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Valor Preparatory Academy was taken down by Queen's Grant 58-26 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Valor Preparatory Academy have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
