Baseball Recap: Palm Beach Central Wins Going Away Against King's Academy

After losing to King's Academy the last time they met, Palm Beach Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Palm Beach Central Broncos came out on top against the King's Academy Lions by a score of 7-2 on Monday. That looming 7-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Broncos yet this season.

Charlie Houd looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits every time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andres Lopes, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he also posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zach Pollock, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Palm Beach Central's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for King's Academy, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Palm Beach Central will venture away from home to challenge Jupiter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palm Beach Central's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Jupiter's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for King's Academy, they will host American Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on February 24th.
