Soccer Recap: Canyon Lake Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Canyon Lake pushed their score to three the last time they played Somerset, but on Wednesday they couldn't quite do it again. Canyon Lake's defense stepped up to hand the Somerset Bulldogs a 2-0 shutout. This was payback for Canyon Lake, who suffered a 6-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Diego Fuentes and Jordan Bierbaum scored both of Canyon Lake's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Canyon Lake has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those five games. As for Somerset, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canyon Lake will welcome San Antonio Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Somerset has already played their next contest (against Pearsall), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
