Baseball Recap: Spring Mills Comes Up Short

If Spring Mills was feeling good fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Martinsburg on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 8-2.

Spring Mills saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Trumpower, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Spring Mills has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-11 record this season. As for Martinsburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-12.

Spring Mills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Martinsburg, they will square off against Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
