Baseball Recap: Riverview Sarasota Takes a Loss

Riverview Sarasota was the 6-2 winner over Braden River when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Riverview Sarasota Rams fell 4-1 to the Braden River Pirates on Thursday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Morgan Peggs was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Riverview Sarasota saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JR Hudson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. What's more, Hudson posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Riverview Sarasota's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Braden River, their record is now 2-3.

Riverview Sarasota didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 loss against Port Charlotte on the 21st. As for Braden River, they will face off against Parrish Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
