Recap: W D Mohammed Caliphs vs. Arlington Christian
The W D Mohammed Caliphs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Arlington Christian at home by a decisive 64-49 margin. W D Mohammed lost against Arlington Christian in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 67-60 score last time.
Arlington Christian found their leader in underclassman Chezi Essel, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Essel's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Davon Aikens, who scored 14 points.
W D Mohammed's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Arlington Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6.
W D Mohammed will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenforest at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenforest presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than W D Mohammed in Georgia (Greenforest is ranked 12th, while W D Mohammed is ranked 530th). Arlington Christian is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Heirway Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
