Softball Recap: Menard Comes Up Short

Menard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Medina Bobcats, falling 27-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 8-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2021.

Sabri Zamora was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Perla Pacina was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Zamora wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Menard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Menard's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Medina, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Menard will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Medina at 5:00 p.m. on March 28th. As for Medina, they will face off against Richland Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
