The Washington Panthers will face off against the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Washington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Washington proved they can win big on Monday (they won by seven) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Galesburg 10-8. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Silver Streaks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Micah McCoy was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Owen Klein was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, LaSalle-Peru didn't have quite enough to beat Princeton on Saturday and fell 5-4.

Washington now has a winning record of 5-4. As for LaSalle-Peru, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Washington came out on top in a nail-biter against LaSalle-Peru when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
