Softball Recap: Ashley Screaming Eagle vs. North Brunswick Scorpions

Ashley lost against North Brunswick back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Ashley Screaming Eagle fell 11-6 to the North Brunswick Scorpions. Ashley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vayda Lequire made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Rigdon, who went 1-for-4 with a stolen base, two RBI, and a double.

Even though they lost, Ashley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

On North Brunswick's side, Gracie Christianson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Laynie Wittkofsky, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Ashley's loss dropped their record down to 4-20. As for North Brunswick, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15.

As of now, neither Ashley nor North Brunswick have any future games scheduled.
