Softball Recap: Lane Tech Champions vs. Conant Cougars

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Taft, Lane Tech was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Conant Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Champions have posted since April 28th.

Sofia Stronsky looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Arianna Marin, who went 3-for-4 with one home run.

Lane Tech has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Conant, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 14-7.
