Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves vs. Western Alamance Warriors

Cedar Ridge is on a four-game streak of home losses, Western Alamance a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves will challenge the Western Alamance Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Wednesday, Cedar Ridge ended up a good deal behind Chatham Central and lost 56-41. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Red Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Bears are ranked 160th).

Meanwhile, Western Alamance didn't have quite enough to beat Williams on Thursday and fell 60-57. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 14-6 in the first quarter.

Western Alamance's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Cedar Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Cedar Ridge couldn't quite finish off Western Alamance in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 54-51. Can Cedar Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
