Softball Recap: Baker County Wildcats vs. Trinity Catholic Celtics

On Tuesday, the Baker County Wildcats earned a 9-4 victory over the Trinity Catholic Celtics.

Rylee Walker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Walker was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Grace Masterson looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Sadye Harvey was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and six RBI. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Baleigh Shields, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Baker County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Catholic struck out nine times.

Baker County's record is now 8-2-1. As for Trinity Catholic, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-6 record.

Looking ahead, Baker County will challenge Oakleaf at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Trinity Catholic, they will take on Mount Dora Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
