Baseball Recap: Mohonasen's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

Mohonasen fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Troy on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Flying Horses by a score of 6-5. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Flying Horses apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

AJ Crux put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Crux was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Ty Cunningham was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Shea Moore was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

The loss snapped Mohonasen's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-4 record. As for Troy, they now also have a winning record of 5-4.

Looking ahead, Mohonasen will host Voorheesville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Troy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-12 win against Guilderland on the 29th.
