If Virginia Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Riverdale Baptist, they should've done a better job of containing Ean McLaughlin. The Crusaders really took it to the Patriots for the full four quarters, racking up an 80-52 victory thanks in part to McLaughlin, who went 15-for-26 en route to 40 points and four steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 17.5 points per game.

Another player making a difference was Dez Ainsworth, who posted nine points and five rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played.

Despite the loss, Virginia Academy still got an impressive performance from Rondel Jones Jr., who scored 11 points and seven boards. Darren Maglocky was another key player, putting up six points.

Riverdale Baptist's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Virginia Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Riverdale Baptist will challenge Salesianum at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Virginia Academy, they will square off against St. John's Catholic Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
