Volleyball Recap: Lubbock-Cooper Takes Down Burges in a Playoff Battle

Lubbock-Cooper extended their postseason success on Monday against Burges. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lubbock-Cooper never let Burges on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-20.

Broox Lopez had an outrageously good game as she had five kills, three digs, and one block. Lopez is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Maisen Daniel, who had 15 kills.

Emilly Banuelos and Emily Rodriguez certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Banuelos had 15 digs and one assist, while Rodriguez had 11 kills and three digs.

Lubbock-Cooper's record now sits at 25-12. As for Burges, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-11 record this season.

Lubbock-Cooper has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Grapevine on the 6th. Burges does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
