Clay Center is a perfect 10-0 against Chapman since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Clay Center will host Chapman at 4:30 p.m. The contest will give Clay Center their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Clay Center easily dispatched Sabetha on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Clay Center fell just short of Tonganoxie by a score of 5-3 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Chapman never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against Herington as Chapman made off with a 21-0 victory.

Cade Hanney and Talon Landreville made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Hanney pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Landreville struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. At bat, Hanney scored a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Landreville scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. What's more, Landreville posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Chapman got a massive performance out of Aven Woods, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Woods a new career-high. Levi Willmann was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Chapman's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Clay Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Clay Center took their victory against Chapman when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-0. Will Clay Center repeat their success, or does Chapman has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
