They strolled past Conwell-Egan Catholic with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 81-64. Given Devon Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Conwell-Egan Catholic is ranked 299th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Devon Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zane Conlon out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Conlon hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Shane Doyle, who scored 14 points along with five assists and three steals.
Devon Prep's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. As for Conwell-Egan Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Devon Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-49 win vs. Cardinal O'Hara on the 11th. Conwell-Egan Catholic has also already played their next game, a 78-68 loss against St. Joseph's Prep on the 11th.
