Baseball Recap: Spring Valley Victorious

Spring Valley won the last time they faced Cheyenne and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Grizzlies came out on top against the Desert Shields by a score of 5-1.

Damon Kodesko made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Spring Valley is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-10-1 otherwise. Kodesko was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Kodesko wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Vincent Perrone, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

The win got Spring Valley back to even at 12-12-1. As for Cheyenne, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-8.

Spring Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Desert Shields: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
